Nigella Sativa is also known as black caraway, nigella, kalojeere, and kalonji. It is an annual plant from the glaucoma family derived from the southern part of the Europe. Already in ancient times it was used as a spice and spread to Western Asia, where it is grown because of its taste. In the wild, it covers roadside and fallow lands. Due to its flowers, it is sometimes used as an ornamental plant.

Nigella Sativa oil is used to care for sensitive and acne skin. It can be also found in shampoos and many other cosmetics.

Nigella Sativa Seeds is also used in the form of spices as an addition to bread and savory pastries. After grinding, they can replace black pepper. You can find these seeds in curries and lentil dishes alike. Many Southern Asia meals can be found with Nigella Sativa garnish on top or incorporated into their stir-fry.

How To Use Nigella Sativa Seeds Health Embassy

Infusion

2-3 tsp of crushed or ground Nigella Sativa Seeds pour 1 cup (200ml) of boiling water. Let stand covered for 20 minutes, then strain and let it cool. Drink the prepared infusion during the day, dividing into 2-3 portions. You can sweeten it with honey and use it also externally.

Tincture

100g of ground Nigella Sativa Seeds grind into powder and pour 250ml of vodka 40%. Set aside for a week in a dark place. After 7 days, filter and pour into a dark bottle. Drink 2-3 times a day for 1 tsp diluted with honey. Can be used also externally.

Powder

Grind Nigella Sativa Seeds in a grinder for dust. Consume 1 tsp of this powder twice a day. Add it as a spice to salty pastries, meats and cabbage dishes.

Honey

Put a few tbsp of liquid honey to a clean jar and add grounded Nigella Sativa Seeds (1 tsp of Nigella Sativa Seeds for every 1 tbsp of honey) and 40% vodka (1 tsp Nigella for every 1 tbsp of honey). Consume 1 tsp of this honey twice a day.
