Nigella Sativa (Nigella Sativa L) is a plant native to southwest Asia. It is cultivated and found wild mainly in Egypt and India, but also in other parts of North Africa, western and southern Asia, Southern Europe and the Middle East. Also known as black cumin or kalonji.
It has long been used in folk medicine in the Arabian Gulf region, Far East Asia, and Europe. Nigella Sativa is often used in cooking: it has slightly bitter seeds which are used as a flavouring or spice in Middle Eastern and Indian cuisine and are sometimes sprinkled on flatbread, naan bread, or bagels.
Nigella Sativa Seeds can be grounded into powder which is a great ingredient into your dishes. You can mix it with other species. Nigella Sativa Seeds Powder can be added to milkshakes and smoothies or chutneys and curries.
How To Use Nigella Sativa Seeds Powder
Nigella Sativa Seeds Powder can be added to your standard daily meal, also oatmeal, smoothies or yogurt. It can be used as a "pepper" in recipes with fruit, vegetables, salads and poultry.
Pour 1 tbsp of Nigella Sativa Seeds Powder with 250ml of boiling water, let it infuse for about 20 minutes and strain. The resulting infusion can be used to: rinse affected areas, rinse hair, drink with the addition of honey.
Take ½ cup of Nigella Sativa Seeds Powder, ½ cup of honey and 1 cup of vodka 40%. Combine honey and Nigella Sativa Seeds Powder, add vodka, and set it aside for a few days. Take in a dose of 1-2 tsp per day.
Mix 1 tsp Nigella Sativa Seeds Powder with 1 tbsp of natural honey and apply on face. Rinse after 5-10 minutes.
