Cistus is a type of evergreen shrubs originating in the Mediterranean region. Most often it can be found in Portugal and Spain, although these plants are also found in Turkey, Morocco, and the Canary Islands.

Cistus Incanus herb is also extremely popular in Africa and the Middle East and the most popular form of preparing Cistus Incanus for consumption is making an infusion of it. One portion of Cistus can be brewed up to 4 times.

How To Use Cistus Incanus Health Embassy

Infusion

Pour 200ml of boiling water over 1-3 tsp of Cistus Incanus and let it steep covered for around 10-15 minutes. Strain it and, after cooling, drink. The infusion can be seasoned to taste with lemon juice and/or sweetened a little bit with, e.g. honey or stevia powder.

An interesting idea is to serve the brewed Cistus in the form of ice tea, especially in summer. This healthy drink with the addition of ice cubes and mint leaves perfectly refreshes.

Decoction

Pour 200 ml of water over 1-3 tsp of Cistus Incanus, bring it to boil and cook for 5 minutes, leave it for 20 minutes to cool down and strain.

The decoction got, as a result, can be used internally (100ml 3-4 times a day) and externally for compresses and for washing the face.
