Benefits of Silverweed Herb
Silverweed Herb is mildly astringent, diuretic, haemostatic, odontalgic and tonic. The tannins of Silverweed herb have antibacterial action and help to heal the intestines. A strong infusion is used to treat the bleeding of the pile. It helps treating ulcers and haemorrhoids whilst the whole bruised plant, placed over a painful area, will act as a local analgesic. Silverweed is also an excellent remedy for cramps in the stomach, heart, and abdomen.
Silverweed Herb infusion with honey is also used as a gargle for sore throats. In addition to the infusion taken internally, it is advisable to apply it to the affected parts by compresses. As a diuretic, silverweed has been considered useful in gravel (fine urinary stones).
As infusion: Take 2 tbsp of Silverweed Herb and boil in 1 l of water for 10 minutes; strain it in 15 minutes and drink 50 ml every 2 hours.
