Silverweed (Potentilla anserine L.) is a plant known for its silvery-white colour of the leaves on the bottom side of the leaves. Sometimes is called goose wort, goose grass, or goose tansy. Most often it can be found in river valleys, on wet meadows, banks of rivers and ponds, and on pastures. All parts of the Silverweed are edible.
In the past it was used culinary - its leaves were used as a soup’s thickener and as a salads season. Silverweed Herb extracts were used in leather production because of the high content of tannins. Silverweed Herb infusion with honey is also used as a gargle. In addition to the infusion taken internally, it is advisable to apply it as compresses.
