This special tea is historically known as ‘Shepherd’s Tea’ because of greek shepherds used to make a brewed tea out of the Sideritis plants. Nowadays, it is mostly consumed in Greece and Spain.

Greek Mountain Tea consists of select handpicked dried flowers, leaves and stems of the Sideritis plant.

How To Use Greek Mountain Tea Health Embassy

Infusion

1-3 tsp of Greek Mountain Tea pour with a glass (200ml) of boiling water and infuse covered for about 10-15 minutes. Then strain, cool, sweeten with honey to taste. You can also season it with a pinch of cinnamon or ginger.

Decoction

Pour 1-3 tsp of Greek Mountain Tea with 200ml of warm water, bring to a boil and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Leave to infuse covered for 10 minutes, then strain. It can be served with lemon juice or/and honey.
