Goat’s Rue is a native plant to the Middle East known also as galega, French lilac or Italian fitch. Don’t confuse Goat's Rue Herb with Rue (Ruta graveolens). This herb is rich in galegine, a substance with blood glucose-lowering activity. In ancient herbalism, Goat's Rue Herb was used as a diuretic. It also supports milk supply and volume in breastfeeding women.

Benefits of Goat's Rue Herb

Goat's Rue Herb is used along with conventional treatment for diabetes. It can stimulate the adrenal gland and pancreas. Some people use Goat’s Rue Herb for digestion problems (it helps in the production of the various digestive juices) and to protect the liver. This herb is also appetite stimulant and may help in chronic constipation.

Some herbal combinations that include Goat’s Rue Herb may be used as a tonic and for blood purification. Goat's Rue Herb contains a chemical that may lower blood sugar. It is also used to reduce fever by promoting sweating.

Suggested Use:

As an infusion: use 1 tsp of Goat's Rue Herb to 250 ml of water. Place the herb in a cup, pour on boiling water and leave it to steep for 10 minutes before straining. You can drink one third of cup up to three times a day.
