European Ash (Fraxinus excelsior L.) is also known as common ash, weeping ash, bird’s tongue or just ash. It is a native tree throughout mainland Europe and western Asia. It is a large tree that can grow up to 40 meters. Nowadays, European Ash Bark is also used in herbalism, and because of its decorative qualities - European Ash is eagerly planted in parks and on the city's green areas.
To make a tea, take 1-2 tsp of European Ash Bark and pour with 1 cup (200 ml) boiling water. Let it stand covered for 10-15 minutes, then strain and drink. You can add some sweetener to taste if desired and drink.
2 tbsp of European Ash Bark pour 2 cups (400 ml) of water, cook for 5 minutes. Let it stand covered for 30-40 minutes, then strain and drink. For a more appealing taste add peppermint or sweet marjoram.
You can also use this decoction for rinsing the mouth, for bathing the legs, to rinsing the oily hair and for compresses for the skin.
50 g of European Ash Bark pour 400 ml of vodka; let it stand for 14 days, then filter. Take a daily dosage of 10 ml tincture mixed with 50 ml of water. You can also use this tincture externally.
